Oxymoron of the Day

"Military Thinking"

See this post by Steve Clemmons on the spate of "moral waivers" being issued to fill the ranks.

While they continue to discharge gays. Including specialists. Like linguists fluent in Arabic and Farsi.

Can you say "stupid"?

Military intelligence. Another apt oxymoron. I'm losing my capacity for outrage.

On the bright side, though, I take heart in the fact that there ARE gays in the military, in spite of the bone headed leadership that makes it so difficult for them. And they are serving with distinction.

DADT was the result of an unholy alliance between the top brass and the Gingrich, which between them have made a mess of just about everything for the last twelve years.

There have always been gays in the military, there will always be gays in the military, and it makes sense that they're there because they want to be -- it would be so easy for them to avoid service -- so of course they're going to do their best.
