Today's Must Read

A very intelligent essay by Stephanie Coontz on how marriage was redefined forty years ago and the religious conservatives failed to notice.

Of course, since this is WaPo, I suppose we'll be getting an OpEd from Maggie Gallagher and/or Tony Perkins in a day or two.

Excellent piece. Of course. the shriller the opposition the more probable it is that their cuase is lost.

Actually, I think it works the other way around -- as they realize they're losing, they get shriller and more extreme, until they finally make complete fools of themselves.
