William Saletan has has thought again about his series on race, intelligence, and genetics. (I mentioned it here, although I left the summation to Atrios.)
In a nerdy sort of way, it's fairly entertaining to witness the verbal contortions Saletan goes through trying to distance himself from the crap he wrote last fall without actually saying he was wrong: it's only taken him six or eight months to figure out something that the rest of us twigged to in about fifteen seconds. (Interestingly enough, although I did read Saletan's series, I never linked to it, and none of the commentators I did link to did, either. Sort of gives you an idea of the total disdain involved there. At any rate, here's the link. Do note that Saletan's in the brown stinky stuff up to his hips by the second paragraph.)
Frankly, when someone can come up with a consensus definition of intelligence, these discussions might be worth having. Not until.
