Aside from being an idiot, she's either appallingly ill-informed (she must watch Fox News) or an outright liar. Germany has more sun than the U.S.? Excuse me? Lady, have you ever been to Phoenix? Or Los Angeles? Or Miami?
One wonders how much Exxon-Mobil -- excuse me, mean "Fox News" -- is paying her. She gets a Through the Looking Glass award for this one.

When I read your post, I immediately thought of my experience travelling in Germany in the 1970s and 80s. Over the course of several extended business trips, primarily in the northern half of the country, I never once saw the sun -- there was heavy cloud cover every time I was there. Digby's solar map proved my memories correct. Little actual sunlght. They get more sun, do they? Right.
I've never been to Germany, but I remember seeing pictures of the Baltic coast -- bleak, and cloudy. As Digby points out, what Germany does have is a coherent national policy and a commitment to move away from fossil fuels.
